Those are 44 cal Lee 200 grain conicals and 350 grain Lee target minis - 50 cal. I used 30-1 Midway alloy for this.

I like to cast two different bullets at the same time to take advantage of the "down time" needed to let the bullets set-up. I find that if I cast two different types, then I can keep a steady pace going and it times out just right.

Those Minis should be cast with pure lead. Pure soft lead will allow the base to expand better. Really, pure lead should be used with all black powder guns. Looks like you have got the casting down pretty well.

30 to 1 ought to be just fine. And they look GOOD!

What do you use your conicals for (i.e. Colt, Remington, Ruger, Roger's & Spencer or LeMat) and how well do they shoot?
