I think I like the old trigger better. The grip on the Vertec is definitely better, but either the trigger is too close in where I can't get enough leverage on it all the time, or my fingers are too long.

Your thoughts?

I've heard over at the Beretta forum that two standard changes done to Vertec's are swapping the short trigger with a standard one and replacing the mainspring with a Berretta DAO spring(for a 9# pull). I tried a short trigger on a Sig P228 and I noticed a loss of leverage. If you have short finggers, the DAO spring may work better with the short trigger. Check out www.berettaforum.net

Swap it out w/ a Titanium trigger in a size you can live with! :D

I'd noticed that the stock Vertec's trigger seemed to stack when I dry-fired one in the shop - I'd be interested to hear how it feels after swapping out the mainspring. The trigger reach definitely feels better with the short trigger, but if the short trigger DOES jack up the leverage for your trigger finger, I'll pass...

Not really... definitely different but better is a matter of personal opinion. And if it's so much better, why can't get the leverage on the trigger? Just pointing out that New & Improved isn't always better. But then again, I don't have your hands... so maybe it is.

Short triggers are for short fingers. I don't need them. But yes, you can get a longer trigger for it, and you need to do so if the short one is causing such problems. If the trigger is too short, your going to compensate by changing your grip. This isn't good. If you bring the gun up for a snap shot - even with the point-shooting technique - your point of impact will be different.

George, what I mean is the back of the grip feels great in my hand, but my fingers are too long for the short trigger. I think putting a long trigger (I actually have one from my Elite before Ernest replaced it w/ his trigger) and a D-spring may solve it.
