I got a box of once fired .500 S&W Speical brass that I would like to load up. I have been unable to find any data, so any suggestions would be welcome. I am hesitant to use starting loads for the .500 Magnum since I don't know what effect the shorter case will have on pressure. Thanks for your help.

If you have a .50 Spl. chambered gun, I am jealous.:)

I have a feeling this brass was made thinking that someone would come out with a scaled down .500 kind of like the .38 - .357 and .44 - .44mag except going in the other direction I still think it's a good idea, In the mean time I've got this short brass that fits fine in the .500mag

I haven't loaded .500 Special but I have downloaded .500 Mag pretty far (to see how soft-shooting I could make it).

Titegroup is what you need. It's volume-insensitive. I've gone as low as 9 grains for 330gr plated bullets (I've gone as high as 17.5 grains too).

Thanks Eddie. I have some tightgroup, I'll give it a try.
