I had it on my MarkII ... for a while I really liked it but I switched back over to the stock sights which I'm more comfortable and accurate with.

I've got one on a 45/70 BFR. They work great after getting used to. Wouldn't go back at all.

You either like Ghost Ring sights, or you don't. The 1raggedhole apetures are a wonderful, dirt-cheap way of trying them out at low risk. I like Ghost Rings, myself.

It turns out that a lot of the problems with Ruger rear sights are caused by "wiggle". There's an article here by a guy who "tuned" the factory sight body and got good long-range results:

The Bowen rear target sights are popular, and there's info on these here:

Right now I'm using the factory rear and a Millet front sight. In my "Box 'o Stuff" I have a Gold bead front; deep V rear that I thought I liked when I first put it on but went back to the origional.
With tri-focal glasses, it's hard to get good sight alingnment. You younger guys think pushing forty is bad, wait 'till you start dragging it! :scrutiny:
BTW: I'll be putting these on a GP100

Yeah, I had one on my .30 Carbine Blackhawk. It was a little too radical for me and I switched out to the Bowen rear sight. I didn't give it a good trial because it shot way too high to keep on paper. I replaced it and found that it wasn't the fault of the sight, the gun shoots high like that with the Bowen also. Does anyone have any advice on changing front sights ?
