Kramer Gunleather: Worth it?

So after losing my new Alessi Talon (that still makes me sick), I'm looking for a good IWB holster for my Ruger SP101. I like the look and relatively short turnaround of the Kramer #2 IWB but for that price I'm wondering if I should just get a Don Hume for now and put an order in with Alessi or HBE. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I've been using a Kramer strong side horsehide holster for my Colt's Lightweight Commander since 1988. It is as good today as when I received it. Only thing is, it is now broken in. A very comfortable holster and of superb quality.

Kramer has some good designs; customer service and attention to detail, however, give "awful" a bad name.

Since I own, and have extensively used, at least ten or twelve Kramer holsters over the past 16 years, thought I'd chip in here.

Not sure what SW is referring to as far as the customer service and attention to detail. Kramer's customer service is fine (and wait time on orders miniscule compared to most makers) and as far as "attention to detail" -- while the holsters may not be as pretty, finely-boned or aesthetically pleasing as say, a Mitch Rosen, Alessi or Milt Sparks with a high polish and trimmed with some exotic skin, Kramers are well-fitting (both to handgun and the body), exceptionally durable and totally functional.

Although I love my MS VM II, I use Kramer IWBs almost exclusively. No, nothing fancy. Just great fit and they wear forever, simply the longest lasting holsters I've ever used for daily carry over many years.

Well worth the money.

Kramer makes great holster, probably the most durable I have ever used. I highly recommend Kramer Leather.

I don't think you can go wrong with Kramer, Sparks or Alessi. I have a couple of each. I guess I slightly prefer Alessi, my 239 fits in my Talon Plus better than any other gun/holster I have come across. Lou is a hell of a nice guy and very knowledgeable on subjects in the firearms industry.

I was recently screwed by the people at Kramer Leather's son. I purchased a holster from their ebay store (Its called ThreeFiftySe7en). I purchased the holster back in Febuary and I have 3 different emails stating that the holster shipped. I finally recieved an apology letter from William Kramer asking that I remove the negative feedback. If anyone would like proof I am willing to forward the email.

I will admit that the ebay store is being run by someone other than the store owner. From what the lady who answered the phone said it sounded like he was the owners son.

Either way I am glad you like the holsters. If I try to buy one it will be from them directly as opposed to through ebay

Here is a link to his store on Ebay. Check out some of the recent feedback:

I am Gatman81 on ebay. If anyone would like the emails I have them.

Tecumseh,

I have a close friend in East Texas who also had a very poor experience with the Ebay store. The gentleman's experience closely mirrored your own. He is a firefighter and a honorable guy.

I noticed that they don't have any holsters listed right now. Too bad the customer service sucked as they had some good prices.

I have a Kramer scabbard holster in horse hide which shows scribed layout lines in the finished product. Looks like it was done by a trainee. The delivery was also delayed a couple of times with convenient excuses each time. One time I was told the finished product didn't pass final inspection. Wonder what that holster looked like? When I finally got the holster I just decided to keep it and not buy any more of their products. YMMV. I prefer Alessi or Sparks holsters by far, even though the wait is longer!

Good shooting and be safe.
