it isn't a rifle, an auto or a revolver, so I guess that it goes here.
I got me a T/C Contender in 30-30 the other day what a blast. I loaded some Spitzer bullets insteed of FP and I think it does better. at least it shoots tighter groups than my 94 does.
Thw grips were not confortable so I bought a competition one from my boss and they are great.
I was real suprised that the recoil was not as bad as a 44 mag in my opinion, will be adding barrels along as I get the money.
My boss has a 35 Remington barrel, What do you think of it as I have no expierence with that caliber?

.35 Remington ought to be a great choice.

All of the Remington Rimless cartridges could be said to be .30-30 cases with the rims turned off. The capacities are nearly identical.

I don't have a Contender, but I do have a Winchester M-94 .30-30, and a Remington M-81 Woodsmaster selfloader. The Remington Rifle has considerably softer recoil than the Winchester gun, due to it's greater weight and long-recoil action, but it is a comparitively soft shooter. Quite unlike my 94!

That's all of the personal experienc I can offer, but I've read in a LOT of spots about people who really enjoy their .35 Rem T/C's

.30-30, 170 grtains @ approx. 2200 FPS.

.35 Remingtonm, 200 grains @ approx. 1900 FPS.

Both rifle speeds, but very similar energy numbers. The performance out of the T/C should compare nicely, with both rounds suffering about the same velocity loss, as they operate in the same 30,000 PSI pressure range.

I, too, have a contender barrel in 30-30. It is a ss super 14" model. I use 125 Nosler ballistic tip and IMR 4198 powder. I can get 3-shot groups under 1" at 100 yds and I have been very successful taking whitetail with it. I love the 30-30 and have never thought I needed any bigger caliber for deer hunting. Enjoy it!

I had some 30 carbine bullets left over from a Universal I had and traded off, 110g Remington SP loaded them up with some 2400 they are great in the contender 30-30 easer than the 150g FMJ's I have also loded, but neather is very much. About like my carry gun a Taurus 450 snub in 45 LC.
