what do you guys think about the Tikka T3 (http://www.berettausa.com/product/rifles/series_page.cfm?currentseries=11) in '06? the retail for the synthetic SS model is around 600, but at my local gun shop I can get it for about 499 + tax. I was seriously thinking about getting it, I love the action real smooth. I picked out a nice 3-9x40mm VX-II for it. Its a fairly new gun, so I wanted to see if anyone had anything to say about it before I make it final, thanks.

There supposed to be nice guns but for that price I would get a ruger or remington.

well I like 870s but I'll stick to Winchester over remington, an M77 would be nice, but I like the tikka's action much better and the stock is alot better than rugers horrid synthetic stock. I didnt even really want an '06 untill I held that tikka, so I doubt I'll change my mind, if I did I would cough up more and get a model 70 with a really nice walnut stock etc.

I just recently got a Tikka Whitetail Hunter in .308 and I am very pleased with the gun. The only reason I got the WH is because I wanted my .308 to have a short action. However, if I had wanted something that required a long action I would have gotten the new T3. They have made some slight changes that I think I would like, such as mag release in front rather than on side and easier to get to the screw used to adjust the trigger.

I have never heard a bad comment about Tikka rifles, so I say go ahead and get it while you still can.
