I had a chance to watch our Mike Sastre's DVD "Kitchen Kydex" a little while ago.
Good stuff for anyone interested in making their own custom kydex carriers. I've played around with kydex before and made a few things. I'd have saved a lot of time and trouble and ruined kydex if I'd had this to watch first. Mike covers the basics and a bunch of tricks on forming kydex for accessories, knives and handguns using materials found around the house in an easy to follow manner. The video is professionally shot and the segments on each type of carrier are clear and easy to follow so you can learn each one in turn before you make your own. He even includes a bonus disk on carrying concealed blades and firearms that I'm not going to tell you a lot about, but that you'll want to watch over and over again (Mike shows you how he can carry a big Bowie perfectly concealed wearing shorts and a T-shirt). If you've got an oven, a pair of gloves and some cutters/scissors you can make your own kydex gear.
The only thing I'd have added would have been a materials list and where to get everything. Mike points you to the source for all the kydex and fasteners and some other materials, but not everyone knows where to get high density closed cell foam pad (you can use the old style closed cell foam sleeping bag pads) used in the program.
You can get the DVDs from TRS Direct and ebay, but get it from Mike directly. The TRS folks just went way over the top in their marketing approach and are as likely to turn folks off as to turn them on to this great material.
