I've got a guy interested in selling/trading a 357 Redhawk. I know these are rare and tanks, I would love to get it, but havn't talked to him about what he wants for it yet.

My question what's a fair price for this gun? Assuming good condition.

They're in very high demand as ammo development mules - you more or less cannot break them :). Terms like "grotesquely strong" get kicked around :D. The 357 Blackhawk is the only thing that even comes close and even then, I seem to recall the cylinder on the RH is beefier by a hair.

Does the guy realize what he's got? What's the condition?

It seems almost ridiculous to say this, but...run the checkout, just in case Ruger screwed something up.

I paid about $550 for a NIB 357 Redhawk a year ago which I felt was a very fair price considering how rarely they come up for sale.

If I saw another one for $399 444 I'd have another one in the safe. :) That's a terrific deal.

I forgot to mention the $550 I paid included shipping it out to me so it was actually $525 for the gun.

I first learned of it's existance from reading "WeShoot To" talking about his on TFL. I knew right then that I had to have one. When I walked in the store and saw it in the case, I didn't even ask the price.

I paid $525 for my 5.5" Redhawk a little over a year ago. That puppy was NIB too - I almost couldn't believe it.
