Absolute Fun--CZ 452 & iron targets

I picked up some Hoppes twirling iron targets yesterday--the kind that rotate around a post when you shoot them. I ended up staying late at the range on the way home and went through about 300 rounds of ammo.
You have to try these with a straight-shooting .22! Much more fun than paper.

I'm getting one! I have a CZ 452 Lux and it shoots GREAT, too! I'll got through at least a brick in one sitting with that new spinning target set-up. I'll bring my Remington 513-T and shoot a brick through that, too!

Cosmoline,
Sounds like a blast. I've been meaning to buy one of those little guns. FYI, Jim Wisner has a safety conversion available for them that makes it back for safe/forward for fire like a "normal" gun.
Now the real question is, what model to get?
Best,
Joe

Go with the "lux" model with the long barrel, Bavarian stock and tangent sights. Tangents are PERFECT for a .22, and basically eliminate the rainbow trajectory. You can shoot with ease out to 100 meters and beyond with only a quick adjustment.

A variation on your theme. I've a Brno/Bauska Arms 452/2-E that I acquired when its factory of origin was going through the USSR "attitude adjustment" and The Wall fell. Its metal work has some rough tool marks and wood stock of good quality material but poorly finished. Blotchy and uneven, like a weekend hobbyist's best effort afer an AM six-pack. It also has custom-mounted-at-Orinda, Buehler bases and rings, Leuopold .22 4X, and a trigger job by Dave Gentry. It is a beautiful piece though roughly finished. It's the first bolt .22 I bought for myself. Ironically, my dad's stock Win 69 shoots about 1/4"larger groups at 50 yards, no modifications but the old Weatherby Mk XXII .22 scope on top. There are two other Brnos, centerfire, in my safe, which I like a lot But again the finish on the metalwork and wood stocks would 't past muster at any of the large American rifle manufacturers. Have they improved that much in the last 10-15-20 years? No local shops carry them so comparisons are not possible. Thanks for your observations.

The fit, finish and accurracy of my 452 will put most American made rimfires to shame.

Ross - they have improved greatly. Same actions with much better finish and wood.
