Hello, all. I've just bought a lovely Schmidt-Rubin K31 Swiss straight-pull rifle in caliber 7.5x53.5mm. The milsurp ammo that's available is all Berdan-primed, but I understand Boxer-prime cases are available, or soon will be, in this caliber. The milsurp ammo I have has a 196gr. bullet.
I'm informed by many people that the 7.5mm. caliber is actually the same bore diameter as "normal" .30 caliber rounds - i.e. .308". Can anyone confirm this? I haven't been able to find any documentation on the round so far.
Also, does anyone reload this caliber? I'm interested in doing so, for obvious reasons of economy. I'll probably look at bullets in the 165-180gr. range. Any suggestions or load ideas would be most welcome.
Finally, any recommendations on dies, etc. for the round? I know they're made by a number of companies. What do you use?
Many thanks in advance for the informative replies... :D
