ive got a little problem.. ive noticed that for about every 3x reloads done (mine is an 8-shot revolver so 3x reload = 24 shots), my extractor gets lose. is this normal?

any insights would be of big help. thanks!

No it isn't "normal". I assume it's a S&W? I would put some "blue" loctite on threads-should take care if problem.

What he said. BLUE. Not red.

If you can't find real "Locktite" there are a number of "generic clones". MOST that I've seen follow the blue/red codes: blue means it will resist slipping but can still be unscrewed with hand tools, red means the only way to remove it is with enough heat to ruin the metallurgy, or drilling.

Don't use red on a gun, period, end of discussion.

Thanks Hunter shooter!

Mine is a 627-5. thanks for replying!

by the way, is this usually the case with most other smiths? I was thinking it may be because of the way they made the thread turn (counterclockwise) that makes it lose and unscrewed.
