They seem to be the same size, except for cost and the M3 Rail on the P-01. Hmmmmmm..... choices, choices... Maybe I should just get a 75. Oh do the 75 magazines (including the high capacity) work in the PCR and the P-01?

The P-01 has the accessory rail, the PCR doesn't have it.

The P-01 has the standard CZ sights, the PCR has "Novak-ey" type low-mount sights.

The P-01 has scalloped rear cocking serrations and a counterbored hole for the takedown pin, the PCR doesn't have those features.

The P-01 doesn't have a chamber loaded indicator, the PCR has a "chamber loaded" signal pin in the top of the slide

The full-sized CZ-75 magazines work in both the PCR and the P-01, although they stick out of the magwell about 1/2".

Yeah, I can't understand why CZ was making a big stink about the 01 and was hoping for the smaller nine they were working on.

The PCR is a very nice gun with a pretty nice DA/SA trigger.

The Big Stink theory I wonder about also......seriously. CZ went to town telling the world..."new metallurgy, bla bla bla" Well...as a total dyed in the wool CZ guy....Im calling B*LL S**T! :what: :neener:

The biggest improvement in the PO1 over any CZ gun including my beloved PCR is that every part from one PO1 can be thrown in another and have it work the same. Previous to the production of the PO1, ALL CZ'S were hand fitted on final assembly.

I like the fact that they are getting their manufacturing process's up with the rest of the world...............but still like "hand fitted" guns as well.

The PO1 is not any better than the PCR and for a CCW...the PCR smokes it hands down............Id love to see a guy wearing a full M3-6 setup on a PO1 in an IWB holster and trying to drive all day...............ba ha ha ha....Sorry. It does make sense for a side arm/home defense gun......but not a CCW. IMO, humble as it is  The PCR is very very hard to beat for the best all around CCw..........................

lendringser.......great comparison btw you have a PM.........

Shoot well

The outside measurements of these two guns (PCR, P01) are remarkably similar, with the exception of the rail's dimensions toward the muzzle. Otherwise, both conceal equally well. P01, here, IWB as I'm typing this. Have driven 3000mi trips with this setup, without problems or discomfort.

The PCR has a cast aluminum frame.
The P-01 has a forged aluminum frame.

If I recall correctly, the P01 is approved for issue to NATO nations. It has a nato acceptance number engraved on the side. The PCR is not approved.

Whats the difference between forged or cast frame? Is one stronger? I imagine one is more expensive to make.

My P01 is my primary concealed carry pistol and it wears very well on long trips. A good holster helps ... like one I got from you, Eric. :)
