View Full Version : Encore grips?

My dad bought a 10" Ruger .480 barrel for his Thompson Encore. We went out on a somewhat rainy day so I could shoot it. With iron sights, I feel like I could hit nearly anything with it.

The downside is the factory Encore grips suck. They're way too small making the recoil painful. Pachmyer grips would be nice, but they make them for the Contender and not for Encore.

Anyone know where to get larger Encore grips?

Fox Ridge Outfitters is the main supplier of aftermarket Encore stuff.

No, seriously, I would like to find LARGER Encore grips.

Thanks for answering the post, but all I found was what I can find anywhere; standard rubber or walnut grips. Just looking for something that is much more comfortable shooting.

Why couldn't Pachmyer just make a run of Encore grips? That would be nice. A nice lady at the Wilmington Ohio PRO Gun show said that each year, Pachmyer takes items out of the catalog instead of adding them.

If they don't have it, you're probably going to have to make your own or have a gripmaker do you a custom job.

Fortunately, I don't think the grip attachment set up on the Encore is all that complicated. You can drill a hole in a block of wood and attach it to the gun. Then dremel off what you don't want.

Darn, just when it looked like I might find a buyer for that 460 Weatherby Mag Encore pistol barrel. (Yes they really do make them.)

Thanks for the info.

I would shoot a .460 Weatherby Pistol (at least once) if I could have some nice grips.
