DON'T CLICK ON THE LINKS. Copy/paste them into your browser.
If you click on the links they'll be able to see that they're getting a lot of hits from pro-guns sites and they'll just bury the results.

That orlandosentinel poll needs more attention, though. Let's make sure and leave no room for the gun grabbers to twist the truth of public opinion!
Anybody found any more polls?

It's fairly obvious why most of these polls never show up on the news, most of them overwhelmingly support us, they normally fade away, I'm just curious why they keep putting them up if they don't use them, or skew the interpretation of the results like "almost 1200 people contacted the website to say they support stronger gun control"

The Brady website (http://BradyNetwork.org) has a link to make it easy to send an email to all of the reps in your area as well as the house and senate leaders.
You can delete the default antigun message and replace it with your own.

I'm probably what you would consider a liberal, and I think gun bans are just stupid (well liberal on economic issues)
1. If you were going to make a case for a gun ban they always go after the wrong guns ("assualt weapons" like AKs, ARs etc., when handguns cause the most deaths).
2. I'm basically a libertarian when it comes to social issues, just look at the incredible results acheived by the war on drugs; increased violence, no doctor supervision of users, and guns and the intoxicated mixing. And no drop in the amount of drugs on the street, just more criminals. And this is coming from someone who doesn't want more than one beer in them at one time.
paramedic70002
April 18, 2007, 08:37 AM
Don't do it! The header will still show the email coming from Brady, your email will never be read, and your email will automatically be counted as anti-gun.

trailgator, I always thought people who say "not sure" on surveys were sorta funny too. Why do you answer a question when you have no opinion on it. :)

Brady Link is Cool. I used it to send the following message:
I am saddened and outraged by this week's tragedy at Virginia Tech.
It is time for you to take steps to end gun control efforts on our 2nd Amendment rights to prevent tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech.
I support stopping HR 1022, and HR 1859, both which are efforts that will do NOTHING to prevent tragedies such as what happened at VA Tech. So should you.
What are you going to do to protect Constitutional Rights in America?
Sincerely,
TJ

I agree about not using the brady thing to send it, if you guys want, US rep. Marty Meehan is the chancellor now at the school I attend. I'm pretty sure hes not pro-gun but I can get a message to him, if you guys have some sort of electronic petition I can hand him a copy.

I was thinking the same thing. It might be construed as an anti gun message based solely on its origin.
I followed that message up with one to my own senator and asked them to check to see if my other message had been received and understood.

I said this:
I am outraged by this week's tragedy at Virginia Tech. It is much too hard for the right people to carry weapons in this country.
It is time for you to take steps to end restrictions on concealed carry in order to prevent tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech.
I support NO gun laws restricting the right to bear arms. Neither should you.
What are you going to do to stop gun violence in America?

If you click on the links they'll be able to see that they're getting a lot of hits from pro-guns sites and they'll just bury the results.
If they dont like the results they'll probably bury them anyway.

2 of the 3 polls posted are no longer up. I guess the votes were so against more gun control they decided to take them down since it wasn't going to help their cause.
