I have small hands, and the 1911 with normal grip panels, flat MSH and short trigger is still a tad too large for me, front to back wise.

I'm interested in building my own carry pistol, and i'd like to slimline it. I know a "slimlined" 1911 has had a high grip treatlent to the frontstrap, a high grip grip safety installed, and the frame is made thinner, in addition to thin grip panels.

Exactly how much material is taken off of each of these areas?

Ted Yost does a "downsizing" of 1911 grips. You could ask him for details about it.
