First you need to find one for sale. There are three of them listed at gunsamerica.com (http://www.gunsamerica.com/Search/Category/165/Class-3-Shotguns.htm) right now. Since they are located out of state, you will need to find a transfer dealer in WV.

If it is on a Form 3, it will transfer to your dealer tax free on a Form 3. If it is on a Form 4, it will transfer to your dealer for $200 on a Form 4. Then it will transfer from your dealer to you for $200 on a Form 4.

The "Streetsweeper" is the American nickname given to the South African Striker/Protecta series of drum-fed shotguns. Read about them HERE (http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/SH09-E.HTM), courtesy of Max Popenker's site.

They do NOT have detachable box magazines. They fire from a sort of revolving cylinder, much like a revolver, and are actually slower to reload than a tube-fed gun (though they hold more shots).

Actually, the loading sequence is similar to a single action revolver. You have to use an ejector rod to punch out the spent shells, and then insert replacements one by one.

Whether it's worth it is up to you, but I wouldn't go through the hassle of getting an NFA item over this. A Saiga 12, with 8-round magazines, will be more fun and a lot more practical, in my opinion.

Without going through it all again, just let me briefly say that the Striker/Street Sweeper will almost certainly be less fun than you think it is going to be. Almost any regular autoloader shotgun will provide you with something better.

Assuming the seller is also a resident of West Virginia, you need to submit the following:

2 Form 4's (http://www.atf.gov/forms/pdfs/f53204.pdf) with CLEO signatures and passport photos
1 Certification of Compliance (http://www.atf.gov/forms/pdfs/f533020.pdf)
2 FBI FD-258LE (http://www.atf.gov/dcof/index.htm) fingerprint cards
1 check for $200

When the seller receives the approved Form 4, you can pick up the gun and the Form 4.

A Saiga 12, with 8-round magazines, will be more fun and a lot more practical, in my opinion.

I came to the same conclusion after researching the Striker-12, USAS-12, and the other semi-auto offerings from Browning and Remington, etc.

Additionally, AGP Arms (http://agparms.com) makes (in my experience) reliable US-made 10-round box magazines for the Saiga-12. :)

The street sweeper is a big, heavy, unwieldy, over-rated gadget...The triggers on them are heavy and unconventional , it stacks and has tons of creep. When the full cylinder rotates to the next chamber, it torques the gun in the direction of the cylinder rotation - not to mention it weighs 150 pounds fully loaded [exaggeration]

save your money
