I own one particular 12 bore shotgun that is classed as a live Pigeon gun. In Victorina times there were competitions in Europe shooting live Pigeon released from cages for high prizes. The gun is full and full choke as they were going away targets. I use the gun for high pheasant driven game shooting in the UK now.

The gun is marked on the barrels as Syrena Aless Arms Co Liege which is Belguim renowned for good quality shotguns which this is. Its a box lock but with side plates with a mermaid engraved on the top lever. I believe Syrena is a european language name for mermaid.

Does anybody know anything about this Belguim gun manufactuerer

I can't say I've heard of them, but Belgian guns aren't very well known in North America (except for Browning designs); you might have some better luck at http://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belge/a%20a%20site%20belge%20gb.htm ; they specialize in European/Belgian gun identification.

Simon-

You might also try the forum at the below link, where there is a lot of knowledge and an international membership. But you will want to post photos for the best responses.
