I don't know, But Special weapons does not have a good reputation. there are several TFL threads on the subject, and not many of them are good.

IIRC, they announced they would not be selling the 80% receivers.
They are supposedly making HK-93 receivers that Vector Arms will complete into HK-93 clones (woohoo).

You never know with SW. They've announced in the past that they'd drop the SW3 HK-91 clone, but still offer them from time to time. They claimed they'd stop civillian sales to concentrate on LE/Military - begging the question "who'd buy SW when you could buy HK?"

All their firearms are 80%. Some are less than that. They have yet to produce a 100% functional firearm as far as I have seen.

Hmm...I think Special Weapons is using their heads here by supplying someone who knows what they are doing.
I've heard some good things about Vector Arms. The only thing I hate is that it takes UPS forever to deliver to Florida.

I thought I had read something recently about SW not being run by the same people anymore? Is that Todd guy gone yet? Maybe they have cleaned up their act a bit?

Spend your money as you will, of course, but I will NEVER do business with Special Weapons, LLC, any successor company, or any affiliated company EVER.
Customer service was the most inconsistent that I've ever seen (depended on the mood of the owner that particular day or hour or minute), quality control was either poor or inconsistent (I will admit that there were some guns that ran great, but the point is for a LARGE MAJORITY to run at all), and business dealings with distributors were troubled.
Perhaps I am biased because of certain relationships that I have with people involved in the gun business but I, for one, will be glad to see that business go (even further) down the tubes.

Thanks guys. Actually, I've been emailing SW and Tactical Weapons for a few days now.....no answer.
I think I'll take my chances on a Century receiver and have a custom builder put a G3 together.

It is the typical scenario of people knowing about him so he changes the company name to try to get away from the bad reputation. If he is doing so well that he "is going to buy out HK" why would he go out of business? He sells tons of receivers, sells the tooling for a good chunk of money and now decides to go out of business? I would not trust him at all.
