What modifications need to be done to AR magazines to feed .50 Beowulf, and is it 'undoable' afterwards? Can a .50 Beowulf magazine straight from the factory feed 5.56 cartridges, or can it be made to?

According to this review http://www.gunblast.com/50Beowulf.htm

The design of the .50 Beowulf allows standard AR-15 magazines to be used with slight modifications to the feed lips. Surplus high-capacity magazines can be modified easily for use with the .50 Beowulf.

Looks like you get 7 rounds in a standard 20 round mag and 10 in a 30.

You have to open up the feed lips to get a .223 magazine to feed the .50 round. If you do open up the feed lips then the .223 rounds will pop out of the magazine.

Excellent, the readings I've done also suggest that perhaps bending the feed lips a tiny bit is all that needs to be done.

I have a couple .223 mags that feed either round, without any modification.

As for the mag which came with my Beowulf upper, it will not feed .223 properly.

Personally I just buy lots of AR mags and go through the ones until I find a couple that feed my .50 upper.

Most of my mags feed both the 50 and 223. I end up using the cheap ar mags that misfeed the 223 as my 50 mags. Enjoy.
