Says it all. Put it on my Bushy just for fun. Your experince with one, how much for a decent but not top of the line, and where to get it

I'm a big fan of lasers on defense guns for low light or dark.
I bought an (expensive) Green laser and put it on a Kel Tec PLR-16.
The laser is very impressive. On a cloudy day it can be seen on the target 100 yards away. At night the beam can be seen I don't know how far out, but the beam, unlike a Red laser, can also be seen back to the source.
Now the laser is on the shelf.
Personally I don't have much use of a laser in daylight. There's too many other better sights, like Red Dots, for daylight use. And there's better night sights like a Streamlight laser/light.
So my advise is think about what you want the laser for before putting out the big bucks.

One of the things that I like about my red laser on my Glock is that I can sweep onto the target very, very quickly. But my house is surrounded by green trees and bushes so for daytime use a green laser might not be able to do this.
Can you see a green laser reflecting on green leaves in daylight?
If not then the green laser isn't enough of an advantage in the day, and like M2Carbine just stated it's a disadvantage at night.

Yes, no problem.

Green lasers work great. I would not want one on my weapon at night in combat though. Day time entry and clearing +, low light +, Night time entry and clearing +/-.

Green leaves reflect green light (that's what green means :neener: ). So yes. It's other colors that might be a problem.

I've been very curious about those green lasers. That info on the green laser showing up all the way back to the source is gold.
This is what I like about the red lasers. Only way it shows back to the source is if it's smokey or foggy.
I like the idea of seeing the green laser in daylight as it helps show how much tremble and twitch one has and encourages better control. I just don't know about full on night apps though.

I've got a green pen laser which I mounted to my AR for kicks using a barrel-light clamp... There's no way I'd ever consider using it for defense (the fact that I can see the actual beam at night makes any semblance of concealment impossible, heh), but it sure is fun.
Nowadays I like to break it out if it's really foggy at night... It's like a 4000 foot long lightsaber :D
