Weigh 10 of each to get an average weight, then multiply by 100 for your answer. The total weight will depend on whether you're talking about empty brass or loaded rounds.............
Hope this helps.

Roughly, 1000 rounds of .308 is around 52 lbs and 1000 of .223 is 28 lbs ... so you get about 540 rounds of 308 for the same weight as 1000 .223
Results will vary by a few lbs depending on bullet weights.
Do I win?

768 rounds of Greek surplus .30-06 in 4 spam-cans, in a wooden crate, weighs about 70 lbs.
Give or take.
Yea, I know...nothing to do with the original subject.
