They advertise Cost + 10%, but I've seen a lot of stuff they sell for significantly less other places. For example, they want $596 for a P239, I saw one in the local gunshop for $540 Saturday. Are the local guys selling that cheap, or is gunfinder full of it?

It's 10% above their cost. There supplier might be charging more. But also, the gun store might be trying to move out their inventory for new stuff. Sometimes they can get ridiculously low when they do that. Sometimes gunfinder.com even does it. Wal-Mart actually goes insane. I saw a sale at a Wal-Mart store after it was just over, when they were selling off all their Marlin 336 rifles for $99. It made me sick.

I'm not impressed by their prices. When you add 10%, plus shipping, plus the local FFL fee, I don't see any savings at all,

I've purchased guns from them that were screaming good deals, but that was quite a while ago. Over the past 12-18mos or so, their prices have risen to match or exceed those of the local gun shops and the good-deal factor is gone. If I'm not saving money, I'm going to support my local guys.

Gunfinder is crap.

Cost +10% is not equal everywhere. There is a highly regarded shop here in Austin that advertises cost+10%, but I found another, smaller one-man shop that gives me consistently better prices on both guns and ammo.

Lesson is: even if you think you're getting cost+10%, you should still shop around. Hell, I picked up a Mini-14 at Walmart that was on sale for $425. Cost+10% on that rifle in other places was $450-$460.
