I like the option of the HWS type sights with BUIS for my new AR. I haven't decided on which brand BUIS I want to go with, but I've narrowed down the HWS choices. There is about a $100 difference between the two, but what is the real difference?
As a wild card, anyone ever use the Barska Holosight style sight?
They can all be seen here http://www.opticsplanet.net/red-dot-scopes.html
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.:)

I do not know but am curious for the same reason.
Of Barska scopes I have several and they are of similar quality to Simmons of equal price. But no holo sights, though I am likely going to purchase one in the next 90 days or so...

Well, this is just about to fall off the first page and I'd like to see some input on this as well.

I can't tell you about the XLP, however the EoTech and Busnell holosight (standard not the XLP) are made off essentially the same platform by the same manufacturer. The Holosight does not have the protective guard nor is it likely tested to the same degree to meet MIL-SPEC requirements. They are built off the same platform so many of the quality aspects will likely carry over. Would love to hear from someone who has torn these down to compare.

Well, first off, the Eotech is a rugged, dependable sight, whereas the Bushnell XLP isnt even rated for heavy magnum handgun recoil. Skip the XLP and go with the standard Holosight. I have one and it is just the Eotech without the aluminum glass cover.
