Alright guys, I was given a list of firearms to check prices on. I wasn't told much, but I pryed it out of my dad enough information to see what he's doing. A guy wants to get rid of a collection, all at once. A few members of my family wants to pitch in and give this guy a lump sum for all of it. Some of this stuff is pricey too, and my family tries to rip this poor man off, I'm raising hell.

But anyway, were 8" pythons even made? What's the price range?

I couldn't find a 8" on gunbroker or any other site, so I figured they were rare.

Saw a 95% one the other day for $850, I'd bought it, but didn't want that long of a barrel.

Colt made the Python in 8" back in the early 80's - they called it the Python Silhouette model.

Value - beats me.

I have a couple eight-inch Pythons. Several variants were made, including a hunter model with a scope in a high ticket carrying case and a .38 caliber version.

Typically, eight-inch Python prices these days start at about $1,000.

8 inch Pythons are not very common, but they are out there.
If you can buy 'em minty for $850, you're stealin' them.

They were done in .357 magnum and the target 38 Special as well as shown here in nickel.

Pythons have been made in a lot of sizes through the years up to and including the 8 incher in .357 Magnum...

FYI: There were 2 bright stainless 8 inchers that have sold recently in the $2500-$3000 range on GB in the last month or 2.

I have one of those 8 inch "Hunter" models in a Haliburton case with the Leupold 2xIER scope clamped on the rib. I paid $1000 in 1982 for it. I think it is worth double that. Most Commemertives and factory 'enhanced' models of anything don't seem to go up as fast as a NIB desireable model IMHO
