I have a hard time believing this seller. Check out this auction
#3612414138. He claims it is a blank firing AR-15. Looks too real for me to take a chance on. Tried to enlarge the photo of the receiver to read the numbers, but it got too digitized.
Or try this link.

Don't they make "blank only" guns for the entertainment industry?

Seems to me it would be tough to convict anybody who purchased this since they would be under the assumption they were buying a perfectly legal blank firing replica.
The legal trouble would come if they received it and found out it was real and kept it without contacting the authorities. Seems to me like the only person who would be really libel would be the seller.
Based on that..............I would stay pretty far away from it without confirmation as to what it was exactly. I would basically get a written/signed letter stating that it was indeed a perfectly legal non firing replica.

Dollars to donuts that's one of the old Japanese-made "blowback" blank guns. Collector's Armoury out of Alexandria, VA used to sell them. They don't shoot blanks, but rather use special cartridges that you can load with a very loud cap (essentially a primer) that generates enough energy to cycle the flyweight zinc bolt. A friend had an Uzi of this type while I was in high school. I got in trouble for shooting it in the cafeteria. :uhoh:

Yeah, if you receive it and it is a real firearm, then you have two options. Notify the authorities immediately or keep it and resell it for thousands of dollars. I sort of doubt someone would be selling a real M16 for $300. If it is a sting, you aren't going to get nailed for it as long as you turn it in.
