Anyone know of anyone or anywhere in Washington State that has classes on making knives? I know of only one just over Stevens Pass...but i'm curious if there are any others.

And pass on other threads that people have posted about making their own knives if you know of any!

Knifenetwork , knifeforums , CK&G all have great info for people getting started.

here is some to get you started.
http://www.knivesby.com/knifemaking.html

also a great compilation of all kinds of knifemaking links & info put together by Greg Brannon ( knifemaker ).

Hope that helps.

oh and give Chuck Bybee at Alpha Knife Supply a call , hes over in Sammamish WA he has all the materials you will need to get started. , there are alot of great makers in that area , Nick Wheeler over in Winlock, WA , also Todd Begg over in Spanaway, WA .
Chuck will be able to point you in the right direction , I know there are hammer-ins for forging up in the WA & Oregon area often.

JTW and I both make knives, and we've both only been at it a couple of years. The latest knife I made is here: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=3306301#post3306301

The people in this biz are outstanding and love to help others. If you get into it you'll find a real addiction but lots of help. :)

SixShooter44,

There's a group of knifemakers in Washington state that are pretty active at sharing information. Look up Ed Schemp and ask him. He's a great guy and very interested in helping folks get started. The hammerin looks like it's May 5 up there. http://bronksknifeworks.com/WA_hammer_in.htm
