I think the vent-rib might be a bit taller (higher), but that's it.

There have been various iterations, AFAIK, and many versions of the 1100. So the following info is a general guideline:
The hunting barrel will have a single, metal bead.
The skeet barrel will have twin beads with a white one at the muzzle. Some are fixed-choke barrels (nicer, I think). Ribs are a bit wider, and machined. Barrels may be a bit lighter (?).
Skeet 1100s have different pistons. I have a set. They're bigger and polished a bit better than the field versions. What I don't know, since I haven't used the set, is whether these pistons fit in a regular barrel, or if they are a special fit for the skeet barrel.

I have an 1100 skeet barrel on a Remington Sporstman that I use for new shooters for their first taste of trap shooting (singles thrown straight away, right behind the house, not 16 yards). The barrel was pretty much a straight swap.
I'll check with my brother, he has a fetish for Remington skeet guns. He even has an 870 skeet gun, with the nicest wood I have ever seen on a factory Remington.

That means they shoot lowwer ?
By the way , then you guys / girls shoot , were do you put your target . Say a standing still shot . Do you put the target on top of the bead , or cover up the target .
I am haveing some problems with a new barrel I bought shooting really low .

Mr Kellog, the patterning board is your best friend at times like this. Read the sticky up top and go for it....

Dave , I have all ready patterned it , it shoots really low . I am just trying to find out if this is the norm .

Define "really low".:)
Higher ribs USUALLY mean higher POI, because MOST higher ribs taper down at the muzzle. This angles the barrel upward. Ditto for "stacking the beads" vs. shooting a barrel flat, which is often what happens without a rib.
Like Dave says, that depends...:)

OK let me try this again . :banghead:
When you pattern your shot gun . Were do you aim . Do you put your target on top of the bead , or do you cover up the target with the bead .

I like the mark on top of the bead.
Just for the sake of it, try adding a couple strips of masking tape to the top of the comb so it's built up 1/8" or so. Pattern with that and compare.
