I got a batch of rimless, tapered, primed rifle brass that I have no idea what it is. Here's some dimensions :
Lgth. : 1.74"
Dia. @ rim : .374
Dia. just before the neck : .356 (IOW the taper is .018")
OD Neck : .301
ID Neck : .283 +/- .001

Head stamp : L C 7 4

I can't find anything like it in my books so I was hoping someone out there has seen this brass before.

Sounds to me like someone made a 7mm-223 wildcat.

7mm TCU most probably.

Thanks RecoilRob.... you hit it right on the money. I just found it on a website by using your suggestion.
It was developed in 1980 for the Thompson Contender for varmints. They necked up a .223 Rem.
Thanks again.
