don't know your price range, but the nikon pro-staff for 150 is in my opinion, the best optic in that price range bar none.

I agree about the Nikon Pro Staff value. Had one 3-9x40 and ($125 Ebay) sold it to buy a Burris Fullfield II and thought the Prostaff controls were better and the optics clearer.

Check out Cabela's sweet 22 scopes. Very nice optics and calibrated target turets.

I like my scopes to be compact and light in weight when mounting them on my rimfires and set to be parallax-free at 50 to 75 yards. For these reasons I prefer the Bushnell Banner series of scopes.

If you're gonna be punching paper from the bench, check out the Mueller APV. It's a 4.5-14x40 adjustable objective scope that is getting rave reviews at www.rimfirecentral.com. The best price I've seen, and the place I ordered mine from today is $115 shipped (http://www.mizzoumuleguns.com/). My hunter is wearing a cheap Bushnell, squirrels don't know it's a cheap Bushnell.

Check out this thread (http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179952) specifically. That many dedicated rimfire paper punchers can't all be wrong.

avoid, Bsa, and barska, even though I have 1 and 2 respectively. they are hit or miss. nikon is an excellent scope for the money, so is mueller. I don't know the power you are looking for , but the bigger the power , the bigger the scope. I like a huge scope, and huge power. i have found the Tasco Varmint series, to be quite nice for the money. Also Pentax, and the bushnell , 3200 series, 4200, and Dawn and dusk series, are very good. A good perennial scope in rimfires, is the simmons 22 mag scope.

also, alpen, swift, and Weaver are great brands , in rimfire scope user's needs.

lastly, I would say that IOR, MEOPTA, and millet are the most underrated scopes.

I have a couple of 4X Nikon ProStaffs. Excellent optics and a reasonable price. I'm happy with them. Essex
