I'm starting to do some research into upgrading the optics on my T/C Contender 223 14" barrel. Ideally, I'd like to do most of my range shooting at 100 yards and possibly use the pistol for hunting. I might also want to put the scope on my 44 magnum barrel at a later time. I'm looking at ~$200 US budget.

I looked at a Bushnell Trophy in the store today (2-6 x 32) and liked it. Will this scope deal well with both of the calibers that I have currently? If I look at other brands, what should I stay away from, brand-wise?

Is there a good site to go to learn about handgun optics in general?

Thanks!

I use a bushnell trophy 2-6X on my 223 contender and my 308 striker. Haven't had a problem with either and the one on the 308 gets abused heavily. The Burris and Leupold will give abit better optics for abit more money. I've heard good things about Weaver, but never used them myself. If you want alot of info, and want to meet some really great guys try here. http://specialtypistols.infopop.cc/eve

The .44 magnum has quite a kick to it.
