The Fabarm FP6 Tactical ?

does anyone know where i can find information on my shotgun  i search for fabarm fp6 and i get 2 different types of shotguns that are called fabarm fp6  is the one i have the tactical model or something else ?
i have searched tactical model and i seem to get a differant shotgun...
how do i tell what model i have and why is it almost impossible to find any information on my shotgun anywhere. i even go to the fabarm website and H&K website and i never see anything about my shotgun. when i first bought it i got a H&K shotgun catalog and my shotgun was in there but that was years ago. why does my shotgun feel like the most rearrest shotgun out there
whats is it worth now ? is it a collector's gun now or what  i thought about maybe selling it but it seems so rare i think i should just keep it.. is it possible to still buy fabarm fp6 in the USA ? i thought about selling mine to buy the Fabarm FP6A1 but i cant find these guns anywhere anymore... i was able to get a 2 shot extension when i first got my gun but not even that place doesnt sell my shotgun on there site like they use to.
can anyone help  sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling :uhoh:
oh and if anyone is wondering about the fabarm fp6
it feels like the Ferrari of shotguns. all one piece receiver. chrome lined barrel and it feels so dam good i think it would be impossible to make any better quality shotgun. 100% perfect. i felt the benelli and this fabarm i got felt so much better :) this is just my opinion

Welcome to THR.
http://www.fabarm.com/catalogue.htm
Umm, I am just a dumb southern boy and do not recall much talk about this Shotgun.
Then today of all days, two threads, this one and another are posted on THR.
So I hit the search engines myself.
I first find the company website I posted above.
Then Shotgun World Forums, has a sub-forum, and I looked and did not see much discussion - seems they too were asking for information .
I had to see a picture, to kick start my old brain. I do recall the Name, the "Tri-Bore" system [forcing cone, overbore tapers down toward choke...] and the wood guns with adjustable stocks were really nice looking.
Sorry, and no offense.
In the competitions I participated in, we did not see these Fabrams often. Different discipline, high round counts, and just how the games were played with the guns used is all.
Stick around, be patient. We have some smart folks around here...
I just happen to be a dumb Southern Boy that caught your thread first is all.

I think Choate makes extensions for the Fabarm.
I haven't seen one around here. It just isn't popular enough/low priced enough to compete with the US made pumpgun market...
It is made by HK, which I don't like well, because, of HK's attitude to the civilian market (We're HK, and we hate you).
But, all in all, I am sure it is a fine shotgun. But finding accessories for it is going to be very difficult.
The site I looked at had them selling between $650 to $1000.

I think that Fabarm is actually an Italian company that is distributed in America by H&K.
Anyways, it looks like... a pump shotgun. I think anyone could tell you that, in all honesty, must pump shotguns are pretty much the same. If the Fabarm works well, then it is a good gun. From what little I have read Fabarm does seem to be a quality make.
EDIT: I think H&K stopped importing Fabarm a couple of years ago.

well thanks for the link. i looked at those catalogs and still did not find my shotgun in there. the closet ones i see are the SDASS which are already i high capacity shotgun. i had to buy the 2 shot extension for mine, also i have the flip up front site.
what i like about it is I'm able to buy new chokes for it which is a pretty cool option. the tri-bore system and chrome lined barrel is good to. very accurate from what Ive seen with my usage. at the most when you grab the pump and give it the twist test you only get about 1/8" movement and when you shake the gun you almost get zero noise from any part. 1 piece receiver. the flip up site is strong and tight. rail mount and screws underneath the grip is nice to. when you pump the gun its so smooth its kinda like opening up one of those nice snap on tool boxes that slide on bearing wheels (almost that smooth) and the pull forward has a extremely smooth feel as well and a smooth lock. nothing rattles and nothing wobble and everything has a top quality feel to it. and the stock and a top quality feel to it as well, it doesn't feel liek some plastic hollowed out stock like most others i have felt. fabarm seemed to have put a lot of time into making a gun of such top quality its a shame they arent as popular as i think they should be.
i remember the mossberg 500 i use to have. everytime i shot it, i felt that the reciever was going to fall apart with every shot i take. and the grip felt like i could almost twist it all the way around the barrel..
I'm not really sure what could be done to make a better made pump action shotgun. i traded my ss beretta 92fs for it with 2 high caps :)
sorry for may lame terminology,i don't know what every part on the gun is called :P i use to but that was years ago :p
i would have thought it would be a little easier to find information and maybe some sales on this gun so i could get a idea of the value or something but it almost feels i have the only one...
i would like to sell mine to get this gun below but im worried if i ever did sell that i wouldn't be able to find the FP6A1
does anyone find this gun to be the dam nicest gun you have ever seen in your life ? :D

That is one long forend, it looks like.

I know what you mean. I wasn't as worried about the reciever, but the flex that the forearm has just really does not sit well with me. It feels like it is going to bind up.
Probably the reason that they are not as popular is the high price tag. You got a good deal in the trade for the Beretta, but the catalog prices are too high for most people's tastes.

even my wife likes it :) no not really, first gun she ever shot and it hurt her little hand and now she wont touch it :uhoh:
this shotgun wasn't to expensive when i bought it, i think i paid $500 for it and after that i think i saw one for sale online for liek $400 but that was acouple years ago and i havent seen one since....

We've had an FP-6 for several years now. The newest ones have a remarkable anti-corrosion coating, and a few design changes - but it's the same shotgun.
Manufactured by Fabarms and distributed by H&K, they excel IMHO, but I'm no expert with diverse experience in such firearms and so have no comparison.
The tri-bore seems to be more than just a marketing campaign, and the workmanship is outstanding. Our feelings are such that we may well be purchasing another two of the 2006-7 models (we plan on mounting an Eotech holosight on both).
YMMV.

do you have the link to the sight's you are talking about ? i googled it but i think I'm coming up with a whole bunch of those type of sights. I'm interested to see what ones your talking about. the site that i have been looking at for my shotgun is the aim-point sites. http://www.aimpoint.com/ check out the 2 videos they have, they say its the only red dot site that you don't have to have the scope centered on your target only the dot, so wherever the dot is is where your bullet is going to hit no matter what angle you are firing from while looking down the site.
do you know what years they made changes ?
also I'm not sure many people know this but the Fabarm shotguns have a Lifetime warranty, which i heard was the only gun shotgun manufacturer that offers this type of warranty. i even asked them about the coating over the barrel shround after i first got it, they said to send in the gun and they will fix it. im not sure if they would do that since i just bought my shotgun a few weeks before or if they always do this type of service but it was nice to know they are there to make me happy it seems.
also the barrel shroud goes 80% all the way around the barrel and not just covers the top half like all the others i have seen on other shotguns.

Glad to hear that you are happy with yours, but I would like to know what material the receiver is made out of.
You might want to see about getting a mag tube clamp. Those tubes need the support.
he tri-bore seems to be more than just a marketing campaign
What exactly does this tri-bore feature do? (I am not going to download that catalog, though- that's just too large for my dialup)
Oh, and you might want to get some reduced recoil rounds, the soft clay loads, or some of those Aguila mini-shells (if they will feed) for your wife so that she can have some fun blasting.
Tri-bore is the name given to the barrel design.
Not a new idea, and actually has been around a long long time.
Brain fade and cannot recall the other names folks may be more familiar with.
Basically, forcing cone has less "step" (lengthened ), mid section "tapers" in bore diameter to muzzle where choke tubes are. Over-bored if you will.
Stan Baker bore diameter tools are really neat and useful tools. They are expensive.
I actually had one of these once upon time, and used to have access to these for use.
So I and others used these and found some interesting things about barrels.
Like plain barrels with fixed chokes vs today's barrels with screw in chokes.
How barrels of yesteryear were akin to "Tri-Bore".
Measuring "jug choke" , "swage choke" and "Russian Choke"....etc.
Yep. One could measure the inside of a barrel that was 20, 30, 50 years and more old and get "Tri" readings .
It is said everything that is going to be invented, already has. Just somethings have not been discovered, and sometimes get "re-discovered".
Art & Science - Mr. Brister said it so well. ;)
One reason some cringe at old barrels getting "whacked off", and why I know some folks look for certain barrels.
I know one fellow that finally found a Remington plain barrel , with fixed choke, he has wanted for 20 years. :D
Nope, ain't gonna share...it is that special.

I really don't think i need to use a tube clamp with this. it feels as it was made of thick hard steel. when i pulled it out of the box i couldn't believe how heavy duty it was, you could definitely feel the quality in it, not cheap thin metal like what i had on my mossberg. also on the fabarm fp6 extension tube there is like gear like grooves with a spring loaded peg on the guns tube side, so when you snug it down tight it also locks into place.
after owning this gun i would never use any other shotgun. EVER
i found this on the Internet:
When it comes to reliability and tactical flexibility, nothing matches the FABARM FP6 Series shotguns. Security professionals agree that a pump-action shotgun is still the best choice for a defensive shotgun. FABARM FP Series shotguns are built to take the toughest abuse confronting today’s law enforcement and security users.
FABARM pump-action shotguns use the same advanced design and manufacturing techniques found on their premium arms. Twin action bars, deep drilled TriBore™ barrels, durable sandblasted anodized finish, as well as interchangeable chokes, make the FP6 one of the strongest and most tactically adaptable pump-action security and utility shotguns available. The ability to mount accessory Picatinny rails on the extended forearm, combined with the rail mount built onto the receiver of many of the FP6 models further enhances the tactical utility of this shotgun.
Features:
• Tribore™ chrome lined barrel with heatshield
• free carrier for quick, smooth reloading
• extended forearm has hard points for mounting accessories
• threaded outer barrel for chokes
• Ergal 55 alloy receiver
• can use a variety of accessories, including folding stocks, pistol grip stocks, compact handgrip, and magazine extension
• twin forged action bars for smooth reliable operation
• 3" chamber
• large safety button
• choice of blade sight or Picatinny rail
• lifetime warranty
if anyone wants some fine detailed pictures just ask. i got macro on my camera :P

The EoTech website: http://www.eotech-inc.com/index2.php
No, I don't know the production history. AFAIK, your shotgun is a standard production model - not all are illustrated in their catalogues as there are usually single feature changes (Ex: w/wo heat shield, w/wo picatinny rail, etc).
I have no idea if Fabarms is absolutely exclusive in their warranty - but any firearm bought through Davidson's has a remarkable and simple lifetime warranty.
Avenger29, I want to try some of the Aguila mini-shells this summer (a summer without a crisis or three would be pleasant) as an option to wishing for a smaller gauge shotgun. I'll post the results when I find the free time.
sm - I was pretty sure the wheel was reinvented every few decades and the tri-bore was likely to be no different. Far as I can tell, the receivers in Fabarms shotguns are forged steel, stainless steel, and at least one is an alloy (the lightweight 18" pump).
Family up-country has been duck hunting for over 50 years, and the nickel-steel actions of the old Winchesters, and Ithaca on the rack were still singing the sweet song of a reliable provider for meat on the table when I cycled the actions a few years ago. Unforgettable sound of handmade quality sticks with you, you know?
Yep, you would. Tump!

I wouldn't use them for defense, though. Reduced-recoil loads are what you probably should look at for defense.

One of the main factors in selecting my 870 was the steel receiver. I don't care for aluminum.

the sling mounts look like a pretty cool product. how much are they ? i might just add one for looks...is there a gap behind the trigger guard >?

Fabarm shotguns are made in Turkey by Hatsan.
Hatsan also sells in the US their own version of the same shotgun minus cosmetic changes called the "Escort Aimguard":

I always wanted a FP6, I remember when they were commonly available in my area, imported by HK. I like the carbon finished model. I like the idea of a higher end combat pump.
I remember ads talking about tri bore and the fact the guns were deployed in the Bosnia conflict.
I only have seen 1-2 used since like around 2003. They sold new in like 2002 once for sale at $369. I passed as I wanted carbon fiber finish.
