I have a Remington 31 pump-action 12 gauge and I was trying to figure out the date of manufacture. I emailed Remington a while ago but ni response so far :confused:

It has a screw-on barrel and the serial# is 86700

Any ideas?

Goto http://www.remington.com/library/ Then goto HISTORY. The Model 31 was made between 1931 and 1949

I ran the numbers and estimate that it was made around 1939. Not bad for $150. Plus it shoots like a dream.
