Officer Accused Of Pointing Gun At Other Officer
Police Department Investigates Incident

POSTED: 4:37 p.m. EDT June 17, 2003
UPDATED: 4:45 p.m. EDT June 17, 2003

WASHINGTON -- The D.C. police department is investigating allegations that one of its officers pointed a gun at another member. Sources told News4 that the alleged incident happened around midnight Tuesday morning in the 1st District police station.

Apparently, one officer walked into the station carrying marijuana plants he had seized earlier in the day. The desk sergeant on duty told the officer to leave immediately. However, he refused and asked the desk sergeant for an evidence bag. She apparently became irate and pointed her weapon at him.

There's no word on whether criminal charges might be filed or if disciplinary action might be taken.

Anyone that will point a weapon at someone because they are frustrated needs to be removed from the force, slapped and sent home sans gun.

that that is what is supposed to be happening to all of us "untrained" "unscreened" schmucks who have no business owning guns because blood will run in the streets when the line at the ATM is too long.

Boy I sure am glad the DC police only hire "trained" and "screened" people but don't let any serfs have any guns. The horror I tell you.

Why? They're trained? Isn't it obvious only the police should have guns? :banghead:

Anyone that will point a weapon at someone because they are frustrated needs to be removed from the force, slapped and sent to jail .

Any non-LEO would be spending a few nights in the graybar hotel for getting mad and brandishing their weapon.

Not likely. 1 person in 10 in the District works for the city government.

It's no wonder the D.C. politicians keep braying for Congress to pass legislation allowing them to impose a commuter tax on Federal workers. With their current Federal subsidy they are only able to spend about three times as much per capita as the average US city. They obviously need more money to pay for things like anger management counselling for their police officers.

D.C. is a socialist toilet. I wish I lived further away from it.

Good thing is wasn't at Logan Airport. There would be SMG fire everywhere! :what:

The D.C. police (& city gov't, for that matter) should be flushed & have the military take over. Afghanistan is a safer place than D.C. now...:scrutiny:

seeker_two: I didn't hear about her firing a weapon?

The relevance of the Boston remark?

Don't forget to use those emoticons on the reply so I know how you feel.

She should be charged, she obviously isn't in the correct frame of mind relative her actions.

The Compost this morning reports she was charged yesterday with ADW. Also noted:
-51 yrs old (menopausal maybe?)
-20-yr veteran
desk sergeant (called her "like an office manager")

Oh well, around here, that was probably a career-enhancing move...
