I have just uncovered an old 1960's Redfield scope I had put away. The side parallex adjustment is graduated over 180 degrees in BOTH directions from 75 as 75-100-150-2-3-4-5-600-5-4-3-2-150-100-75. I can't remember how this adjustment is made or why the dial is graduated in 2 directions (40 years ago!)
Thanks for any help.

Put the scope on a 100 yard target on bench.....set scope parallax adjustment on 100 yd mark......check for parallax...if OK then great.....if not then turn parallax to the "other" 100 yd mark and start again.....100 yard starting point will be one or the other 100 yd marks on the parallax.

Just understand that the parallax scale on any scope is an approximation, it is not a mechanical certainty. Adjust the dial to get close and then work out the residual parallax for the range you will be working.
