I'm a wheelman at heart but enjoy my little KAHR P9 quite a bit. On the days I take it to the range, and it comes time to police the area and pop the spents into the coffee can, it's literally a pain to pick those things up.

Someone with a bad back, etc. has a hard time bending over to pick up the shells even over a small area. My wife went to Big Lots and got me a magnet that's fixed to the end of a 3 foot pole. Cost $7. It's a great help and makes it easy to clean up if, like myself, you find it difficult due to age, injury or whatever.

Forgive my ignorance please, but how does a magnet help pick up brass? I didn't think it was magnetic.

Of course you are correct. A magnet will not pick up brass. I only gave half the story and in doing so, probably came away looking like an idiot!

I take the magnet my wife purchased and apply a very adhesive tape to the bottom..about 3.5 in. in diameter. At 3 feet, the pole is ideal for picking up spent rounds while seated at the bench. The magnet does work well for other items if you can't easily bend over.

No, I haven't found a magnet that attracts brass.. I apologize for not explaining in the original post!

Ok, the addition of the tape helps. Thanks for the tip, bending over isn't as easy as it used to be. :D
