I've been looking for Mossberg 500 field/security combo with the 28" VR and the 18.5 IC barrels. My local wal-mart had a 500 field for a good price, I asked if they could order me the combo and the guy said that they could, but I would have to pay full MSRP!? I was told the same at a Dick's sporting goods store. Something about not buying it in bulk quanity.
Anyway I'll keep my eyes open at gunshows I guess. There's really no point to this except I'm a little frustrated. :banghead:

Just use the gun locator to select the gun, then enter your zip. You'll be given a list of shops in your area which they will ship to along with the price. Mine was $301 before taxes and "other fees". Final cost was $343 , but prices can vary greatly depending on where you live. For example, my brother lives in southern IN, and the same gun costs $300 OTD when shipped to his area. It's a pretty simple process. Mine was delivered in two days.

Try Dunhams Sporting goods. Dunhams has 10 stores scattered thoughout Indiana. They usually stock most of the Mossberg/Maverick models.

Sounds like you are running into the same issue I have here in the DC metro area. Gun prices have gone THROUGH THE ROOF! I don't mean a 5% or even 20% increase, I'm talking 50-75% increase!

Makes it worth the gas to drive all the way down to Fredricksburg and such just to find more reasonable prices.

I guess what I'm saying is that I feel your pain!
