Blazer is good ammo. I've used it and have not had any problems. I have heard sporatic reports of ejection problems due to the aluminium cases, but nothing really bad. It is well made factory fresh ammo!!
However, I have heard a report that Wallyworld is now marketing Winchester White Box .45acp in 100rd value packs for $20/box. You might want to look into that!!! I know, I'm going to, as soon as I can get into town this weekend!! :D

Except for a Smith 1917 .45 ACP revolver my .45s hated Blazer ammo.
I haven't bought any Blazer but .22s for years.

I believe I may have been the one to draw your attention to Blazer: Natchez has been having a sale ($7.80 for the .45 acp), and I've bought quite a lot of it.
In olden times, I disdained Blazer as dirty and inaccurate. I kept away from it when I could, preferring S&B or Win USA. More recently, folks have been telling me that I'm quite wrong on this, so I decided to give Blazer another chance.
And, I've been very pleasantly surprised. Blazer shoots very cleanly nowadays, and seems to be more accurate for me out of my 9mms and my .45. In fact, it shot quite accurately out of my SA Micro-Compact .45. So, I went and bought a ton of it when I saw Natchez had it on sale.
The sale runs through the end of the month:

I've shot blazer with success. I buy the cheapest .45acp I can find for range use (Excluding Wolf) Never had a hiccup from Blazers.

Blazer good.
UMC & Winchester White Box better.
S&B best.

I had someone tell me that Blazer isn't good for your gun because of something about the aluminum case not reacting the same way brass does? Maybe scractching the chamber or something... I got it 3rd hand...I have no idea.
I like the Winchester white box stuff Wally World has.

I've shot about 300 rounds of 230 gr. CCI Blazers through my CZ-97B without any problems. On average, they where running about 860 ft./sec. on my buddy's chronograph. Good, clean ammo.

Can't be trusted in an auto except for practice - including the ..22LR. They are fine for revolvers and have one of the best 44 SPL loads at any price.

I get boxes of S&B for $9.50, so that's all I bother buying. I just have an admittedly illogical aversion to having aluminum casings in my gun.

I havn't had any major problems with it and zero problems in 10mm, infact the 10mm blazer is very accurate in my pistols. Bren

Anybody ever find hard primers in the Blazers?
I was shooting some CCI and some Winchester in a Charles Daly, and starting having to hit the Blazers twice.
The Winchester were still shooting ok.
I've shot CCI in a P97 and my S&W 457 with no problem, but I will be all over 100ct Winchester at WallyWorld.
Mini14jac like WallyWorld! :D

I've got 600 rounds of Blazer through my SW 1911, and over 1000 through my Glock 21. Never had a single issue - not one FTF, FTE, or anything else. It's been naught but accurate and reliable. And, it's FAR cleaner than S&B or Federal American Eagle. I'cw not used the Winchester White Box stuff in .45 for a while, so I can't comment on cleanliness there, although with the new value packs at WalMart I'll be giving it a try again.

Double Naught Spy wants to know if Monkey is Bob Dole given the 3rd person language.
Blazer is fine. If it weren't fine, you would read all about the people it had blown up.

No blowups, but I have seen others in competitions have the extraction problems. The wear theory is that if the Blazer has an oxide layer on the case that is aluminum oxide aka sandpaper. Shouldn't be too bad, but it can happen.
Monkey needs to stop flinging poo and buy a reloader. See Monkey go to Wallyworld and buy value packs and bananas. That way Monkey have lot of brass and be regular when reloader comes.

I like Blazer, but like all ammo you gotta test it out and see if your gun likes it. So, I like Blazer because my two autos both like it, and it's dirt cheap.
I typically find it cleaner than winchester whitebox swc but that may not be everyone else's experience.
I even use the stuff as my home defense in my 1911. the Blazer .45 ACP "flying ashtray" is a unique JHP that definitely not all guns like to feed, but my colt commander m1991a likes it just fine, and it's cheap enough that I can put a whole bunch through to test it out. It's also not overly hot (I live in an apartment) and I like to think the excessively wide cavity will help stop it in walls before getting into the next apartment over. plus it has a cool nickname. :p

oh and sometime recently blazer started putting some sort of grey coating on the cases... presumably to fix this problem of possible extra wear?

I've only fired 100 rounds of Blazers through my .45 USP. I thought they shot more accurately than the more expensive PMC 230s that I shot before.
Oh, and I suppose if you're shooting a USP you won't have the cycling problems others have had. :D

I like it. Runs fine in my autos. The only problem I had was in a revolver (2.5 inch S&W 686+) when the cases of the 158 grain loads stuck in the chambers after an extending firing session. Had to poke them out with a pencil.
I wouldn't use it for defense but it's a good range load and seems pretty hot. I like it better than UMC and DEFINITELY prefer it to PMC.
The new 100 round Winchester .45 boxes sound interesting though.

Blazer works OK in my .45 ACP's, but the empties tend to 'stick' in my .357 Vaquero.
My preference for relatively inexpensive range ammo is USA Brand, AKA Winchester White Box. I also like the PMC brand (Precision Made Cartridge) for range use in .357 & .45 ACP.

I've put approx. 500 rounds of .45acp Blazer through my full size SA 1911. No problems here. Accuracy is pretty decent for the money.

Blazer: 2-3 cases through my USP. Not one hiccup. Blazer seems to have a sharper recoil impulse for some reason though. This is particularly more noticeable in my 1911. I've noticed this in 9mm and .40 as well. Shoots clean and accurate enough for practice.
S&B: 2-3 cases through USP and 1911. Also, no hiccup in guns. I've shot the .45 and 9mm and it is very pleasant to shoot. As accurate as the Blazer. Does tend to be the dirtiest of the practice ammo I shoot.
Winchester USA White Box: Roughly 800 rounds through USP and 1911, roughly 1000 rounds of 9mm through various pistols, and roughly 500 rounds of .40 through CZ75SA. All rounds were accurate, relatively clean firing, and smooth recoil. All rounds were flawless outside of the .40 through the CZ. I understand for whatever reason, with the Win USA .40 there is a known problem shooting it through the CZ. Usually, at least 2 Failure to Extract's in 50 rounds.
Brands such as American Eagle, PMC, Lawman, etc, I consider to be in the next category of expense. I usually see these brands one to two dollars more than the Blazer, S&B, Win USA. My favorite is the Lawman, but cost is the prohibiting factor there.
Out of the budget brands ( Blazer, S&B, Win USA), I like the Blazer the least as far as recoil feel. Of course the trade off is expense.
Hope this helps

The stuff works fine in every .45 I've shot it through -- Kimber Ultra Carry, Sig P220, HK USP. If anything was going to have problems, it would have been the Kimber. No problems at all.

I've shot thousands of both 9mm and .45 through my Glocks and 1911 with no problem. The 9mm seems pretty hot. Both seem clean and eject well. I don't reload 9mm, but now I've started reloading .45 I'll probably buy "regular" ammo in .45 for a brass supply, but stick with Blazer in the 9mm.
I think Blazer partly gets a bad rap because lots of guys who reload are used to getting free brass at the range from the guys who don't reload. Blazer can't be reloaded because of the case and because it uses Berdan primers, so the brass vultures get unhappy about losing their free brass supply and bad mouth the ammo.

Blazer: cheap but good fodder.
S&B: Good & you get the brass.
Stay away from Wolf.... which glues itself in the chamber when the gun gets hot.
