Now, I don't personally own one, but have we talked too much about 1911's?

You're on the wrong site if you want to censor firearms discussion.

Try Handgun Control or something similiar.

Apparently not. And note that so many of the 1911 threads are started by non-1911 shooters.

this is a gun forum. and this is the auto loaders section. and the 1911 happens to be a favorite among alot of shooters, so you are gonna have alot of post about them. just use that to build your knowledge base on the subject, if you don't want to read the post then doon't that easy!

How could anyone think that? the 1911 is as classic and timely a design as there is.

Imitation is one of the sincerest forms of flattery
With all of the new variants of this proven design Mr. Browning must be smiling from above.
Never enough 1911's always room for more!

Aren't they autoloader hand guns? Isn't this the autoloader forum? I don't read about 1911s over on revolver or rifle or think progressive forums.

If I were to ask the same of Glocks I'd be hushed up for being an anti-plastic bigot. Glocks don't interest me, so I choose not to involve myself in those threads. If 1911 conversation bugs you, ignore the threads. There's plenty of discussion of all types to occupy all interests around here.

This thread makes me want to start another thread about 1911's. :D :neener:

So what would you like to talk about?

When I see something that doesn't interest me, I just don't read it. Works pretty well it seems.

So, if you are tired of the 1911 threads, why did you make one? ;)

Go to guns america or gunbroker auction sites and browse 1911. You should get a pretty good idea about what's out there. There is a nice 1911 picture thread on general handgun section here. I avoided the 1911 for a number of years, and now own four. They run from $400 to $4,000, so there's a lot to talk about.
