I finally went through with the permitting process and rec'd my permit today. It was surprisingly quick via the electronic fingerprint process. I had my card and permit in 2 weeks, actually a tad less than 2 weeks. The class cost $30, the picture $10 and the electronic fingerprinting and license fee totalled $114. So, $144 all in.

Yes, CCW in FL

Congrats. I too recently got my FL ccw permit and got thru the process in 20 days thanks to e-fingerprinting. A co-worker used non e-printing and waited 12 weeks.
So, what are you going to carry?
For me it's my only auto loader - a full size 1911. A little awkward at first, but suprisingly comfortable (and comforting) now. I hope it is soon more comfortable as I am awaiting one of these: http://rlcompanyusa.stores.yahoo.net/hf1.html

Good service in Fla. In NC, it takes about 6 weeks.
