Anyone know what shotgun was being carried by the point man?

Actually i was thinking a Ithica. Any other opinions? It looked like a Benelli M1 but before the point man "bought it" in the last fire fight he was pumping with his shotgun so I think it would rule that out. I wouldn't be suprised if holywood kept switching the shottys up though.

It does appear to be a pump (can see the exposed mag).

(Have not yet seen the movie.)

Is that an 870?

I heard semi-autos (at least Benellis) aren't used in movies because they can't cycle the blanks? The guy in Heat had an M3S90 but it was in pump mode.

Shape of the trigger guard suggests 870.

IIRC, an M1S90 was used in Alien Nation (the movie) in the beginning scenes. It had been modified to accept box and drum mags. Whether it actually worked or not I'm not sure. The character did insert the mag into the gun but the actual one firing could have just had cosmetic mags on.

The gun it the pic above has an op rod, so it's not an M1 Super 90.

I would agree with the remington vote.

Another guy was carrying a big long stainless shiny shotgun. What was the deal with that? It doesn't seem like it would give you any advantage to carry a shiny shotgun.

Then again...it wasn't any shinier than Bruce Willis's head.

Rem. 870, this movie was pretty gun accurate and I assume that it is accurate in using the standard shotgun used by the military.

870....

One thing to remember. In the real world, many unauthorized shotguns tend to end up in "Hot" areas.

And this IS a movie...

Before I saw the movie, I thought you were just making fun of his baldness. But I saw it last night, and that bright shiny head in the middle of the jungle is quite distracting.

Bruce!!! Get a hat!!!
