while shooting my taurus pt-111 the disassembly pin loosend itself and was struck my the slide. This broke the pin.
Has anyone else had this problem with the Pt-111 or other Taurus pistols?

I have several thousand rounds through my PT-111 with zero problems. I have never heard of such a problem with the 111. I have heard of a similar problem with the PT-145 and the safety being sheared off. If the pin is not snapped into place you have a problem that needs to be addressed by sending your 111 back to Taurus. How did the slide make contact with the pin? When it comes out it moves away from the frame?

Send it to Taurus, My PT-145 broke after 200 rnds......They Fixed it over 1000 now with no Problems.

What broke on your PT145? What kind of loads do you shoot in it? Mine just recently broke a trigger of all things.

The Frame Cracked by the serial number. It did'nt hinder the functionality if i had been in a situation. But they fixed it and I have run 230gr. Speer Goldots., Winchester 230 grain. Even fired a couple of +p Glazers without issues. I am very pleased!

last year a local shop stopped selling the taurus auto's because they kept breaking pins and stamped parts. This was in all three Cals. Bren

Pain, glad to hear yours is working well now. Mine is in the ramge to crack the frame but has not done so. I was surprised when the trigger broke as I had not heard of any issues there. Perhaps a freaky defective part is at work in my case. Thanks for the info.

I posted a response earlier about this having not happened or ever hearing of it. Then, this past saturday, it did. While at the range, after about 5 rounds it stopped as if it had jammed.
I called Taurus first thing this morning. They were nice about it, a new part is on the way...I hope.
