I'm looking for some grips for this gun that are bigger than the stock plastic grip panels. I prefer smooth grips (not rubber). Any suggestions?
It seems hard to find grips that fit this gun. Looking for practical; doesn't have to be made out of anything exotic.

Those grips linked above will NOT fit.
Colt Detective Specials made before 1965 have the older long grip frame.
Guns made after that have the "stubby" grip frame.
VERY few companies still make grips of any sort to fit the older guns, and no one makes rubber.
What you'll have to do is contact some grip makers and ask what they might still make for the older guns.

Thanks for clarifying that! Yes, my gun definitely has that long frame. Would like to find something with a little more grip in front, but I'm not a huge fan of the Tyler T-grip.

Thanks to this thread and a very helpful THR member, I've got new grips on the old gun. It is now a nice feeling handful!
