Full Capacity Magazine Thread

In honor of the impending demise of the stupid AWB magazine restrictions, I have been going over which of the full-cap pistols I might acquire when magazine prices are reasonable again. (I have been weathering the past decade with 1911 single stacks.)

What is the full capacity of some of your favorite double stack mag pistols? Hopefully, we can name most of them here and no one will ever need ask again.

I will begin. Please correct me if I am wrong:

Beretta 92 series: 15, 18, 20, and 30 were available in 1993.
XD-9: will have 15 rounders.
Glock 20: (Gasp, yes, the only dark twinkle in my eye) 15 rounds.
HK P7M13: 13 rounds.
CZ-75/85: 15 rounds.

Take it away. I'd like to know about the CZ P-01, how many capacities for the BHP, and if the SIG P226 has/had as many magazine variants as the B92. The two Steyrs?

Being a bit of a SIG fan, I know they make 15 and 20 rounders for the 226. I didn't know the 92 had that many mag options.

Well, I have HC mags and my favorite 9mm's are the BHP and Pre B CZ's.

The BHP has 10,13,15,17,20,and 30 round mags. :D

I would like some HC 10mm mags for the EAA. Hell I might get a few different pistols just because of the sunset but I will wait to see what brands are resonable. Bren

Well, the only ones I own right now:

Beretta 96D: 11
Browning BDM: 15
SIG P-228: 13 (Although Mec-Gar makes "cheater" flush-fit 15-rounders for it.)

I also have a Glock 20 15-rounder with a Pearce grip adaptor that I use with my Glock 29.

More importantly (for me anyway ;) ), the potential to purchase a HK P7M13 would come back!

Im pretty sure that my Steyr will take 14 +1 rounds of 9mm...damn shame that we are only allowed 10.

However, the 40 cal mag will take 12+1 rounds of 9mm...and since I got it working, it has been 100% reliable.

I've got a good stash of Ruger 15 rd. mags for my P95, but it will be interesting to see if Ruger starts making civilian 15-rounders again, if the ban sunsets.
They never were very "standard capacity" friendly with the Mini 14 or 30, but P-series guns had full capacity mags available before the ban.

The P-01 takes the CZ75 compact mags (rare now, hopefully the sunset fixes that). They hold 14 rounds and fit flush. It also takes the CZ75/85 full size mags but these do not fit flush and hold 15 or 16 rounds.

My 6946 has 12-round mags, and can use the 14/15-rounders of the 59 series. I have several full-caps, a few 15-rounders, and a really cool pre-ban Mec-Gar 20-rounder that I picked up.

If I'm going to carry a 9x19, I at least want a lot of bullets available. :D

Even though I couldn't get it because I live in the Peoples Republic of NJ, the USP Expert 9mm and .40 in 18 and 16 round mags.

My Walther holds 16 rounds. I have a 15 round mag like Tamara described with a grip adapter that I use with my Glock 29.

Tamara, does your grip adapter pinch? Mine pinches me hard when I shoot it, so much so that I am thinking of selling it.

Ok now I'm confused.

I know I can get 15 round mags for my Glock, and 30 rounders right outa cheaper than dirt! I still use my two factory ten rounders because, well, im cheaper than dirt.

My buddy has a few 15 rounders for his Beretta 92F, which i think he had before the AWB.

Are you guys saying that you can buy them but not use them? Or just that they will become affordable once again?

Dude, you can totally buy them AND use them. They are illegal to make, not illegal to use.

Then why is everyone so hepped up about the ban sunsetting? I want it to go away for two reasons. A) its immoral B) i want a collapsing stock on my AR15.

I can get high cap mags for the AR cheaper then 10 and 5 rounders!

Then why is everyone so hepped up about the ban sunsetting?
Because, since 94, new guns that can take hi-cap mags have been sold (i would think) with the neutered mags. Sure you can get hi-caps, but why should you have to go to the hassle and expense? Plus, any guns designed/manufactured after 94 (for example, Walther P99 in .40S&W) have no civilian legal hi-cap mags available for them, unless they were designed to take mags manufactured pre 94.

ahhh! Now your speaking my language! Spanglish.

No really, that does make sense. I would be nice if my G22 shipped with two 15 rounders.

Gave up on the whole preban deal about a year ago and sold out at a profit...

Now I just got the 4506, 639, and MK II auto wise and none of them ever had factory hi-caps. I'll still do a little happy dance for you guys if it makes you feel better though ;)

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I'm going to get a Ruger P series, and it'd be nice for it to come with a pair of 15 round mags, rather than 10's (and having to BUY 15 round mags). Same with the P99 I've been drooling about for months...16 rounds baby! Ditto with a Steyr I'm looking at...which was designed and manufactured post-94. There are NO civilian legal hi-cap 9mm mags. And I bet any AR buyers out there wouldn't mind getting 15-20-30 round mags with their new AR, as opposed to the 5 or 10 round mags.

Don't forget the Para Ordnance P-14 .45's, P-16 .40's, P-12's, P-13's, etc.

14 rounds of .45 acp or 16 rounds of .40 S&W is an awful lot of not-having-to-change magazines so often!
