Novak's has 3 dot Night sights now available for the M & S series. I have an S40 that I just got done, their first one. Look, fit and function are superb. Cost was $177 plus shipping. Sorry my digital camera is a cheap one, so any photo I could produce will not do them justice.

I'm waiting for someone to make the trapazoidal night sites. The whole wierd site thing that most people don't like is one of the reasons I bought my M40.:D

No way in heck I would replace the factory trap sights with novaks, or any other after market sights.

I wish all of my guns had them.

I got brand-new 3-dot PT Night Sights for my M9 for only $70 at a gun show. I don't know if they still make sights for the Steyr, though.

my m40 has given me so many problems i want to drop kick it into next week.

after replacing the recoil spring/guide rod, i've had maybe 100-150 rounds that functioned normally, one or two stovepipes in that bunch. next 100 rounds it would not go into battery between shots, at least 80% of the time it had a malfunction.
the loaded chamber indicator seems to have seized up, and will stick in either position. one position allows the gun to chamber, the other prevents the slide from stripping the round into the chamber.
i've used PMC, UMC, Aguila, Winchester ammo, and some american Eagle. with those problems, if anyone wants to PM me an offer, they'd get an M40 that has less than 1000 rounds, 7 magazines, and a set of trap sights since the rear sight on the m40 needs replacing, and i've not gotten around to doing that.
