Vertec92FS:
I disassembled my frame and reassembled it. About 1/2 the time, after shooting, the hammer follows the slide down. I must have put a spring in wrong somewhere. Any ideas?

I'm sure you checked this but I always start with the simple things and then move up. I had this problem once and all it was was my safety was fully disengaged. Check the safety/de-cock to make sure it is working properly and is not partly on.

Like I said, you probably checked that but sometimes the simple things are the ones that trip us up.

The decock is disabled...I suspect something with the sear springs...something's not catching the hammer, me thinks...glad it didn't go fullauto on me :o

Whew! I thought the gun was going defective on you, Skunk! After reading the title I was thinking to myself: Great! Skunk finally gets a Vertec and gets one with problems!

Hope you got it took care of, buddy!

Could be a weak mainspring. All autopistols have a certain
amount of inertial bounce in the hammer/sear area, though the .45's are more prone due to the violence of the recoil.

The other possibility is worn hammer hooks. If they wear to the
point of negative engagement...angled upward...the tension
of the mainspring tries to force the sear out of engagement.

Berettas aren't my area of expertise, but these things can
cause it on a 1911.

Hope this nails it.
