Sell All My 9mm..but will I regret it later

I recently gave my dad my Kahr K9. I didn't dislike the Kahr, but I rarely shot it and he wanted a good concealed carry gun.

Now, I realize that I really like the accuracy of my 9mm P7's, but rarely shoot them. I shoot my P7M10, it is one of my favorite guns. My M8 and M13 just sit in my safe. I shoot a 38 Special, 45 ACP and 45 Colt a good bit. My big hands and the larger case sizes of the other calibers make reloading 9mm a bit more difficult.

I'm about to sell a tricked out Glock 21 w/ high caps because I don't shoot it and I'll use the money to finance my new S&W 627PC. My P7's would finance a chrome Valtro. It also keeps my wife happy when I finance my gun purchases with the sale of other guns.

Anyone dump a caliber and guns that you really liked, but didn't shoot? Did you regret the decision later?

I almost sold all of my .45 Auto Glocks (G21, G30, and G36), because I wasn't shooting .45 Auto much, if at all. I knew that I'd get the .45 Auto bug again, so I kept them. I am glad that I did so, because I did catch the .45 Auto bug again.

I think you'll regret selling your 9mm pistols, especially since you'll have a very hard time getting them again considering that you're trapped in California like me.

I sold off my 10mm & 40S&W a few years ago. I don't miss the 40's, but I've been contemplating replacing the 10 mil.

PM me, I might be interested in the M13 of yours ;)

I traded off all my 9mm's before, and I DID regret it (esp. after all the "9mm ammo for $0.45 per 1000 posts). Then I had to go back & buy two more...

My experience is to NEVER sell/trade off a good gun. You'll just regret it & spend more to replace it later...:(

I sold my 9mm stuff for a similar reason. I don't really regret it. Right now I've got only .45ACP and .22lr, and I'm trying to keep it that way. It keeps down the impulse buys.

I sold off all of my 9mm pistols and went with all 45s. Then the Kahr PM9 came out and I got back into 9s on a limited basis. I wouldn't sell them all if I were you. I even gave away my 9mm ammo since I had no plans to ever get another 9. That was a big mistake. Watch-Six

I have sold a couple of guns that I don't miss. Then there are those other ones...

I have a BHP made in Argentina and a Colt Combat Commander in 9mm that I plan to hang onto as long as I hang on.

Getting rid of all your guns in a particular caliber sounds like the beginnings of a "wish I hadn't" statement to me. I can see getting rid of some, but not all.

Having sold off most of my 9mms profiteering ahead of the AWB and then selling the remainder two years ago, I have mixed feelings about it. I don't regret the pistols and rifles I bought with the dough, but I do miss some of the favorites.

Now I find myself looking at the sunset and wondering what to get. A P7M13 heads the list, if HK reimports it.

I haven't regretted selling any of the handguns that are gone: KZ45, USP45C, USP40F and Kimber CSTII.

I sold my .40S&Ws and I don't regret it. I have no use for the forty when 9mm and .45acp will do everything I need and there seem to be better selection in those calibers anyway.

I know you will regret getting rid of 9mm because of how cheap the ammo is, why bother reloading? Also, getting rid of the Kahr and the H&Ks will be a huge mistake later on. At least you can easiliy replace the Kahr. If you get a great price on the H&K, I guess I would do it but I would just take the first offer.

I deeply regret selling my H&K USP .40. Even though I made a $200 profit on the deal, now I can't buy another one (MA law)!!!:banghead:

I traded my G19 for a G29, then discovered that practice 10mm rounds were $20/box!! Defensive ammo was even more!!! I spent $150 on a .40S&W conversion barrel!! That helps, but I want my G19 back!!!! :banghead:

Funny.......I sold my 357's, 40's, 45's and .380's and kept my 9mm's....all are good gun but for the $$$$$$$ it takes to feed them well and keep entertained. Its the caliber for me.
Everyone should have at least 1 good 45 though................just my thoughts.
Shoot well

I recently went on caliber "downsizing" spree after I realized how many different rounds I was "supporting". In autoloaders, I dropped down to .22 LR, 9x19, 9x23, .40 S&W, 10mm Auto, and .45 ACP . While there are six calibers there, there are only four breechfaces, and the "before" picture was really bad. I may abandon the .40 S&W/10mm Auto; however, I got a great deal on a .40 S&W Trojan 6.0, so who knows.

In revolvers, I was much more aggressive. I am now supporting three revolver calibers, .22 WMR, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum. I dropped .38-40 Win, .44-40 Win, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, .45 Colt, and .454 Casull. I sold all of the revolvers in these calibers with the exception of my S&W 544.

With fewer calibers, I spend less time reloading and more time shooting, so I am fairly happy.

I hardly touch my other guns now that I have a Valtro. If I did it again, I might take a different course... but would never sell any guns.

I had a Ruger P95, really liked that gun. Sold it, bought a .45 and never looked back.

I too ditched my .40's after a twelve step program and now I use 9mm & .45ACP.;) Everyone should have one 9mm pistol because it does so many things well and the target ammo is cheap.

Sold my BHP last year. Then the local gun shop started running 9mm for $3.99 /50. Bought another BHP just like my old one a few months ago. Of course I had to re-buy all the high cap mags to go with it....arrrrg. I kinda enjoy the guilt free blasting with 3.99 Blazer. No crawling around for brass on those days.
