I need to replace my cartridge lifter, I got the gun taken apart, but it doesn't look like there is any good way to take off the old lifter. Do I need to grind off the pin that holds it and put a whole new one in?
Thanks :)

Thanks for the thread, maybe I'm mistaken. I think its the lever right behind the cartridge lifter... according to the other post its permanent?

There is no tear down that requires grinding off a pin on the model 60.
To replace internal parts such as the cartridge lifter one has to dissasemble the side plates. This is not typically a job for those untrained, so you might want to consider a smith.
If doing it yourself I would look for a complete disassembly guide for the Model 60 which should be available someplace on line or often they are available at laces like Gander Mountain. ( pamplete for different models )
If your close to Sleepy Eye in MN I could help you out. If so PM me.

Thanks for the reccomendations... I have it all taken apart already, I'm not worried about that, but I don't see a way to get the piece I'm talking about off... the pin that holds it is bigger than the hole to take it off... picture a small dumbell thats bigger on both ends. it just doesn't fit through the hole

The only thing that I can think of at this point is that you are trying to replace the disconnector ? It is factory staked onto the inside of the left side plate and the sideplate & part is sold as an assembly.(sideplate with disconnector attached)
Try going to the web site www.e-gunparts.com where you can find a break down schematic of the model 60 which will show all the parts. Maybe that will help ID the part you are looking at replacing.
Edit: PS : If that is what you need let me know and I will look through my parts - I may have one for you that you can have if I can find it.
