Hello,

A friend of mine has a very old shotgun that he wants to sell. The shot gun is probably pre 1900's, it is owned by his father and was bought over 70 years ago.

How would one go about finding out something about this gun?

We have tied searching on the Internet from terms that are inscribed on the gun, but searching is proving futile.

These are the terms that are inscribed:-

Calibre 12
Caraptizada
Papapolvova
Sinhu 13
76308FN
12 2/1/2

Hope to hear back from someone

Post this info (along with some pictures of the shotgun) in Harley Nolden's forum, just below; I don't recognize the language for some of those words, but it's marked as being for 12 gauge shells that are 2 1/2" long, so you definitely SHOULDN'T shoot it with modern ammunition. If you take the barrels off the shotgun, there should be a series of proofmarks on both the receiver flats and the bottoms of the barrels, and those will at least tell you where this shotgun was made, as a starting point.
