I have a question for Dillon XL650 Automatic Case Feeder users. How does it handle the occasional wrong brass dumped into the hopper?

I separate calibers and then dump into the vibrating cleaner. In theory all cases are the same caliber, but the reality is without greatly increasing my brass sorting time, the occasional 9mm .40S&W, .45GAP or WinNT empty will find its way in with the .45ACP. Currently loading on a 20+ year old Hornady progressive that I've decided to have repaired for the last time, I cull the wrong brass at the the inserting into the shell holder stage.

So what happens when a wrong case finds its way into the feed hopper and how long does it take to get going again?

I own a 650 and off hand less then 5 min. There is a clear plastic tube the feeds the shell holder that can be removed quite easily pops in and out.

The only problem I had with mine is a 9mm got stuck inside a 40, I didn't see it,(no, I don't tumble them together, I don't even own a 9). Of course the feeder fed it into the shell plate, when the decapper couldn't go all the way through, the lee decapper pin slid up preventing the pin from breaking.

Like highlander said, about 5 min tops to remove a wrong case IF you happen to see it. In my case, I had to loosen the dcapper rod and slide it back down, then retighten it. Took a bit longer.:(

Thanks, this is key info I needed. About 5 minutes or so wasted every couple of thousand rounds should still leave me with a significantly improved thruput.
